Pre-Operative
Before your surgery.
Before IV anesthesia / sedation
- →No food or drink (including water) for 8 hours before your appointment.
- →No smoking for at least 12 hours before surgery — longer if possible.
Day-of arrival
- →A responsible adult must accompany you, stay during the procedure, and drive you home.
- →Plan for adult supervision for the rest of the day.
- →You may not drive or operate machinery for 24 hours after anesthesia.
What to wear
- →Loose, comfortable clothing with sleeves that roll up.
- →Low-heeled shoes.
- →Remove contact lenses, jewelry, and dentures before surgery.
- →Avoid lipstick, heavy makeup, and nail polish on surgery day.
Health considerations
- →Let us know if you're feeling unwell — cold, sore throat, digestive issues.
- →Confirm with your dentist whether to take routine oral medications.
