Root Canal Therapy (Endodontics)
A damaged tooth can ultimately lead to infection of the pulp and the nerve chamber, which can cause extraordinary levels of pain and lead to an abscess in the area surrounding the tooth. We perform root canal therapy to treat pulp that has become infected in a person’s tooth. This procedure is crucial to eliminating the infection and protecting the tooth from becoming infected again in the future. During this procedure, the dentist will remove the nerve and pulp from inside the tooth. Local anaesthesia is used prior to the procedure so no pain is felt during the process.
What are the benefits of root canal therapy?
- Elimination of infection
- Elimination of pain and sensitivity
- Reduced overall health risks associated with tooth infection
- Restoration of health, appearance, and function of the affected tooth
- Reduced risk that the tooth will need to be extracted
- Shortened overall health risks associated with tooth infection
Extractions and Wisdom Teeth Removal
There are instances when a tooth that is severely decayed or damaged is just irreparable. In these cases, our dentists can conveniently remove the tooth to prevent further damage.
Wisdom Teeth Removal
Your wisdom teeth are the sets of third molars located at the back of your upper and lower arches. They are generally the last four teeth to surface, or “erupt,” and can appear anywhere between ages 17 and 35. Wisdom teeth commonly require removal if they do not have enough room to properly develop and become fully functional.
Reasons to remove your wisdom teeth
There are many reasons for wisdom teeth removal. Sometimes a surgical procedure is required to address sharp pain, inflammation, decay, or infection around the wisdom teeth. If your wisdom teeth impact the bones or bones of your jaw, it can be caused by:
- Damage to nearby teeth
- Disease
- Infection
- Tooth-crowding
